I'm interested in employment opportunities in the Kitchener–Waterloo area as a software developer/engineer. I have been working for 3+ years as a Java developer as part of the Geneious Prime team, based in Auckland, New Zealand. I have extensive experience developing software in Java and C/C++, including algorithm development and implementation, GUI design and OpenGL. I previously held postdoctoral positions in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Otago, working with Associate Professor David Bryant, and at the Université Paris 6 with Eric Bapteste and Philippe Lopez. My research interests have been on the design and implementation of statistical models in molecular phylogenetics and evolution. I have also worked extensively on phylogenetic congruence and deep eukaryote evolution. I earned my PhD from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Dalhousie University where I worked with Professor Andrew J. Roger. I also completed an MSc from the Université de Montréal, with Professor B. Franz Lang. |
